Decided to use wood as a basis for a mold for the light panels, and used Composimold since its so easy to remelt is things to awry! I think this is finally the method thats going to be repeatable.

A few things I learned – prep the wood. Use PAM or vegetable oil as a mold release. It will help with removing the tin foil later. Another thing – the wood grain was raised considerably – the same as I would expect from a coat of polyurethane at least! So keep that in mind – the grain will become part of the design detail of the mold.
This resin can be removed from the mold 12 hours or so after you pour it. It should be. Conditionally things can take longer, depending on temperature and the size of the pour of resin. So use the instructions that come with resin as your true guide.
